I remember when BYB wrote that we heard about a rumor back in November that the Yankees offered Scherzer a 7 year deal. The deal was insane...
"The deal I was able to confirm was possibly 7 years and $190 million dollars. Let me also tell you that another source revealed to me that he cannot confirm."
That was written in RUMOR: MAD MAX SCHERZER GETS BIG DEAL OFFERED FROM YANKEES. Then, later on that evening... that rumor and the one below, were quickly debunked:
Source tells me #Yankees made long-term offer in neighborhood of 6 yrs to Max Scherzer this morning. Still working to confirm w/2nd source.

It's the rumor season, it happens. Now though, it appears that there is another rumor going on involving Mad Max Scherzer. This one is developing right this moment and it's very interesting. According to Jon Heyman CBSSports.com, something's going on...
"Max Scherzer is talking to the Nationals and at least one other club about potential seven-year scenarios, sources said."
So, the question I have for you is, who is the other team and is it the Yankees? Remember, Hal Steinbrenner did just say this earlier in the week:
"Look, it’s not over till it’s over... We still have a full month before spring training. We’re always going to continue to improve. I’m not putting a cap on it. We’ve certainly filled some holes that we had. We’ll keep going for the next few weeks.”
You gotta wonder if the Nationals will be the team... or if the Yankees are even involved in this thing.
OR... Maybe Heyman's just messing with everyone knowing good and well that Yankee fans will think that "other club" could be the Yanks. Damn... I fell for it...
DAMN YOU, HEYMAN!!!
